dbc architecture inc. is an architectural practice focused on the specific needs of complex infrastructure projects. We provide a wide range of services, extending well beyond the boundaries of a traditional architecture practice, with the goal of helping clients navigate the elaborate processes associated with major building or systems upgrades. From project planning and stakeholder coordination to design and construction services, dbc is a firm focused on client’s needs and goals. We have been referred to as the glue that holds projects together, especially projects that involve renovations of existing operational facilities.
Dave Calem, AIA, principal, has been involved with a wide array of projects, from single family homes to airports, and has worked with government organizations, private developers, and non-profit groups. With a passion to make every project successful and a meticulous attention to detail, he works to find unique design solutions that serve the diverse needs of his clients. Most importantly, Dave has an easygoing management style, heavy on humor from his east coast upbringing, which encourages collaboration, teamwork, and a relaxed working environment, making projects more enjoyable for the entire team.
Dave’s approach is all about navigating the process of design, understanding and balancing the complexities of a project’s goals, the unique needs of each stakeholder, and the realities of budget and schedule. Through presentations, team meetings, and one-on-one conversations, Dave seeks to make sure all team members are engaged participants, helping everyone to understand issues and collaborate in decisions to assure a project’s success.
